Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. — Proverbs 10:2

Wealth isn’t worth much in the long run, especially if you got it by being greedy and doing bad things. This bad money makes people’s hearts rot, and it can’t save us from our ultimate death. But being righteous is a much more valuable treasure. This gift of God’s righteousness, which comes to us by grace through faith, is bigger than our mortal limits and strong enough to buy our souls back from death.

Prayer

Holy and Righteous Father, thank you for making me righteous in your sight via Jesus’ sacrifice and your generosity. I want my greatest legacy to be my upright character, not my rank, accomplishment, or fortune. I know my accomplishments will be forgotten when my earthly life is through, but I am totally persuaded that the righteousness that you create in me will be a benefit and an influence for generations after I am gone and will be my companion treasure when I share with you in your glory. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
