Let’s make this easy. First, we have to admit that life is hard and complicated enough that even the smartest people aren’t all that smart. Second, the LORD our God is awe-inspiring in his holiness, majesty, power, wisdom, and grace. He is so much bigger than us that we can only get a small glimpse of his glory. Lastly, let’s stay away from anything that smells like evil, since evil makes us sick and confused and keeps us from God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, you are all wise and kind. Your grace is unfathomable, your holiness is unmatched, and your love is beyond understanding. Thank you for all of your many blessings and gifts, but most of all, I want to thank you for giving us access to you even though we don’t deserve to be here. Your loving mercy has brought us here. Please give me the strength I need to resist temptation and the wisdom I need to see evil for what it is. Please give me the strength I need to stay away from evil and its effects. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
