When we confess our sins, we show that we feel the same disgust and disdain for them as God does. This kind of confession lets God’s grace pour into our hearts (cf. Psalm 51). God gives us the sweet freedom from sin that Jesus bought for us at Calvary. Not only are our sins forgiven, but we are also made clean. We are no longer sinners, and the mark of our sin is also gone. God’s purifying grace makes us clean, perfect, and spotless (Col. 1:21-22). Now let’s act in a way that shows how grateful we are for this amazing gift.

Prayer
Father, I do tell you that I have done wrong. Please forgive me for. . . (Please name your sins out loud to God.) Thank you for letting me be honest with you and tell you how angry and sad I am about them. Please free me from their control over my life and give me faith that you have not only forgiven them but also made me holy and pure. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
