I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. — Isaiah 61:10

This is what God says he will do for his people when their Messiah comes to heal them and give them the Lord’s favor. In a lot of ways, this is what Christians promise. We do have a lot to be happy about because God has saved us from law, sin, and death by sending our Savior and Lord. As God’s children, because of what Jesus did for us, we are clothed with Christ (Gal. 3:26–27) and given the clothes of salvation and the robes of his righteousness.

Prayer

Thank you, dear Father, that Jesus’ death on the cross made me righteous. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for giving me life by paying the price for my sins. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for washing my sins away and giving me the strength to live for God. Dear God, I want to live in a way that shows everyone around me that you have healed me and made me holy. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
