Jeremiah was telling God’s people that God would save and rebuild them 70 years after the destruction. Even though they had left God many times before, he would not leave them or his promises to them. He would stay true. In fact, God was planning and getting ready for them to have a bright future. This promise also tells us that God has plans for us, no matter how bad things look in our own lives. He will do what he said he would do. He will save us and make us happy. Because he is trustworthy and we trust in his Son, Jesus, who saves us from every enemy, we can have a strong hope and a bright future.

Prayer
Give me faith, Lord, even when I’m tired, down, and discouraged. Make me want to believe in your big promises. Lord, when my faith is weak, please give me courage. Help me do what your word says, no matter how hard it seems or how down I feel. Because of Jesus, you have given me a bright future. Please help me be more aware of this great gift as I live. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
