He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. — Psalm 91:1

At the end of the summer’s sweltering heat, where did you find your cool, safe shadow? When we give our lives to God Most High, we find that we are covered by his shadow, which protects and refreshes us. Even when things are hard, we know that he has kept us safe from Satan’s worst attacks and that his presence gives us strength we don’t always see but can always count on.

Give me eyes to see, O LORD, and a heart that can believe you are there even when I can’t see any proof. Please keep me safe when I’m being attacked and give me hope when I’m feeling really down. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
