But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. — Isaiah 53:5

I don’t know how Jesus could be strong enough to hold it up. He took on all of our sins. He let it all be put on him so that we wouldn’t have to deal with the results. But because of that horrible sacrifice, we are healed. We are cured of the worst sickness a person can have: a soul that is sick with sin. For our sins, he was pierced, crushed, and punished. He has given us his peace and a place to belong in their place.
