I’m not sure. I’m not sure! That has to be one of the most difficult phrases for us to say. But when it comes to God and his ways, that’s about all we have to say. What we know about God is limited to what he has decided to disclose to us in his grace. He is the Mysterious Mystery of Mysteries. He is the ultimate known Unknown. But what we do know about him, what he has shown to us in Jesus, is that he is not just great and majestic, but also compassionate and merciful.

Prayer

I can only offer you wonder and awe, O Lord God. When I think about how small our blue planet is in comparison to the size of the universe, I am awed by how big and complex your sovereignty is. At the same time, Abba Father, I love being close to you. You are the most good thing I know, the God who is bigger than space and time, and also my Father, God. Thank you for being open but not easy to get into, for being there but not easy to control. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
