I remember the old saying, “Thank God for the fleas,” by Corrie ten Boom. The fleas kept the German soldiers from going into the barracks where she was being held in the Jewish concentration camp. This let her help people who were being persecuted and visit them. She could show and talk about Jesus there. Even in the worst pain, God can bless those who know that the goal of life is not comfort but character.

Prayer

Mighty God, I acknowledge that I grow impatient and annoyed with difficulties, discomfort, and suffering. Please grant me greater compassion and a better listening to ear, so that I may bless people who need your love and kindness. Give me the fortitude to find delight in the challenges of breaking past the hurdles Satan sets in the road to block people from the Jesus. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
