God’s decision to send his Son into the world has always amazed me. He had many options for how to do it. But he chose to come into the world in this way, as a helpless baby who had to be cared for by parents who were weak in so many ways. But Joseph and Mary, along with everyone else around them, were caught up in the great joy of this new child. This was true even though there were challenges ahead and a mystery that made no sense. God bless this new hope!

Prayer

God, give me a heart of faith so that I can always see how your power and grace are at work in my life. I’m glad that you, the Creator and Sustainer of the whole universe, chose to come into my world as a child. Thank you for putting your great salvation in the hands of human beings so we could know that you thought we were good enough for you to come to our world to make us right for yours. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
