Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. — Psalm 143:10

We want the Holy Spirit to change us so that we become more like Jesus. To make this happen, we must let God’s will into our hearts. God wants to hear nothing more than, “Teach me to do your will.” For him to be God, he has to be in charge of our lives and our choices. This is a big part of loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. When we do this, we open ourselves up to the Father, and the Holy Spirit puts us on the same level as God.

Prayer

I want you, Almighty God, to really be God in my life. I renounce any attempt on my part to try to sway or take advantage of your kindness and grace. I accede to your will. But Holy Father, I confess that I occasionally battle with my own evil and self-centered desires that mislead me. When my heart is hard and my ears are closed to your will, kindly pardon me. Take charge of my life today, please, and may the Holy Spirit guide me on your level terrain. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
