The Holy Spirit is God’s constant gift, his promise, and his seal. The Spirit is our promise that what he started with Jesus’s death on the cross and what we joined in with through faith and baptism, he will finish when Jesus comes back. But the world doesn’t get this great promise, just like it doesn’t get a lot of what the Bible says. Without the gift of the Holy Spirit, their eyes can only see what they can touch with their fingers. They can’t fully see what is true in God’s heart and written in his Word.

Prayer

I’m grateful that you sent Jesus, Father. I give thanks to Jesus for sending the Holy Spirit. I’m grateful to Spirit for never abandoning me. Lord, as I receive more of your Spirit, continue to fill me up until my will and my life more fully reflect who you are and what you want. As your presence is blessing me right now, use me to bless others. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
