You can’t change, swap, or update everything. In a time when computer processors change a lot every few months and software companies release new versions every year, we are trained to look for the newest and best version of everything. Jesus is Lord. That’s a simple but deep truth. No changes are needed. No rival is good enough. No need to change. In fact, if we don’t use this as the foundation of our lives, we risk losing everything we care about. But if we keep going, if we keep growing, if we put down roots in this truth and make it the foundation of our lives, then our future is safe and we will win!

Thank you, Holy God, for the clear, thought-provoking, and enduring truth of Jesus’s lordship. I ask the Holy Spirit to work through me so that my life more closely reflects the Lord’s lordship over my family, my job, and my daily influence. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
