God’s decision to send his Son into the world has always amazed me. He had many options for how to do it. But he chose to come into the world in this way, as a helpless baby who had to be cared for by parents who were weak in so many ways. But Joseph and Mary, along with everyone else around them, were caught up in the great joy of this new child. This was true even though there were challenges ahead and a mystery that made no sense. God bless this new hope!

Prayer

O God, grant me a heart of faith so that I may always perceive your grace and sovereignty being lavished on me in unique ways. The fact that you, the universe’s Creator and Sustainer, decided to come into my world as a child makes me very happy. We are grateful that you entrusted your wonderful salvation to human flesh so that we could know that we were accepted into your world in order to make it right for ours. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
