How do we make ourselves happy? If it’s how we look, we’re all in trouble, because these things aren’t going to be great for long. Paul said he had figured out how to live above the circumstances of life. Jesus Christ was the answer. Jesus was his promise that our problems would not last forever, no matter how hard they were. Jesus would give him the strength to keep going no matter how hard life was. Paul is just as sure that Jesus will do this for you and for me.

Prayer

Thank you, God of glory and might, for describing your awesome power in the Bible. When I face my challenges, they give me hope and courage. I have faith that Jesus can help me through today’s challenges and keep me strong. I apologize for not turning to you during those times and being open with you about my struggles. O LORD, I require the fortitude, solace, and presence of Christ right now. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
