Jesus is the King! That doesn’t just mean that we have given our lives over to God’s will and trusted in his grace. “Jesus is the King!” This means that he owns everything that is made. All angels, demons, and spirits are below him, and their job is to honor and serve him. Even though demons have decided not to honor and serve Jesus, that doesn’t change what their purpose should be or the fact that Jesus’s death and resurrection show that he is better than them. It means that he made the universe, with all its vastness and beauty, to show off his greatness. He is our King, Lord, and Savior because he shows us what God looks like and lets us know and see God. If our lives are in his hands and we do what he wants, no one or nothing can stop him from winning in the end for us and in us.

Prayer

Thank you, Holy and Almighty God, for making yourself known in Jesus. We are grateful for your victory over all forces and living things. I appreciate you giving me the assurance that nothing you own can be taken by an outside force or any power of creation because I am yours. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
