When we glance in the rearview mirror, we just see a massive mess on the front windshield. Our finest days as Christians are always ahead of us. Jesus has vowed to return and return us to God. What might a brighter future look like? So let us not be distracted by nostalgia for the past. We may praise God for the excellent things he has done in the past, but let us not squander the present by complaining. Let us commit to making the most of our time and believing that the same God who raised Jesus from the grave is also in command of our destiny.

Prayer

Every day that you give me life, Holy God, give me a feeling of purpose. Also, give me an optimistic outlook on the future and on my Lord, who will meet me there. Please make it so that I may fully rejoice in the knowledge that I shall always be with you wherever the day takes me. I want to express my gratitude for always being my loving God and father in the name of Jesus. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
