There are numerous worries, and they all tend to congregate around bill payment time. Jesus told us that there is more to life than just food and clothing. Whether we can live as if life is more than just food and clothes is the true question. We are so easily tricked, much like Esau, who exchanged his birthright for a cup of soup. Let’s resist the temptation to trade what we value most for something that won’t last forever or will at the very least cause us trouble and entanglements.

Prayer

Father, help me to overcome my fear and selfishness. I am aware that you have already given the greatest gift ever. Help me focus on what will forward you and your will rather than what would stifle you in my life. In Jesus’ name I ask it. Amen.
