Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: — Romans 5:1

Peace is more than the wish that everyone gets along and everything is calm. Peace with God, which is what the apostle Paul is talking to her about, is a lot more than just wanting quiet and no trouble. Jesus’ selfless obedience to God has brought us peace with God. Yes, God gave it to us by his grace. Yes, because of His grace, God makes sure of it. But because this peace comes from him and what he is like, we can be happy and look forward to being swept up in the glory of our great God.

I thank you, Great Majesty in the sky, for giving us Jesus as a gift of your grace. Give me confidence and faith so I can stand strong and be inspired to live for you with a life full of hope and joy. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
