As we count our blessings and thank God for his great grace, let’s try to figure out why he has given us so much. Let’s also remember the most important spiritual lesson that God made clear in today’s Bible passage and in Genesis 12:2 when he called Abraham: God’s people are lucky to be able to help other people. Let’s not just sit back and wait for God to bless us. Let’s promise to spread these blessings to other people.

Thank you, Father, for all the nice things you’ve given me. Open my eyes so I can see how I can share these blessings with others who need them. As I tell others about all the good things you’ve done for me, may they find the best thing of all — your loving grace — and thank you. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
