But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: — 1 Peter 3:15

We should be ready to share the hope that Jesus has given us with others. But, when we communicate this hope, two things are important: our credibility, or if we honestly think that Jesus is Lord of our hearts. Do we approach others with decency and respect when attempting to persuade them? Instead of winning disputes, the goal is to to win people over to God.

Thank you, Holy and Loving Father, for speaking your grace through Jesus. Any other message may not have been heard by me. Give me the conviction I require to express my trust in Jesus while still demonstrating your grace. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
