Words are important! They can hurt, maim, and weaken. They can also bless, uplift, and move people. When these words come from God, they mean even more. God’s Word, which is found in the Bible and the Gospel, is not only true, but also gives life. God’s Word is alive and lasts forever. It gives us life and tells us how to live forever. It tells us about his grace and shows us how to start over. Let’s not take it for granted, ignore its message, or stay quiet about what it says is true.

God, who is both powerful and eternal, thank you for talking to us in words we can understand. Thank you for your Gospel, which tells us about Jesus and how you save us through him. Please feed my desire to learn more about your Word and live it more fully. Thank you for giving me a reliable, stable, and lasting source of truth. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
