Jesus’ death on the cross at Golgotha, which paid for our sins, was not an afterthought, a mistake, or a tweaked plan. Jesus came as God’s chosen one, his holy Messiah, to die for everyone’s sins and give us life and eternal life. Those who were bad and tried to kill him to keep their place and power were just doing what God knew they would do. He just took what a few bad people wanted to do and turned it into a way for everyone to be saved.

Almighty God and loving Father, thank you for your great sacrifice, which gives you the justice you want and lets you give out your rich mercy and grace. Thank you, Jesus, whose name I pray in, for your loving sacrifice, your holy example, and your promise to come back for me. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
