My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. — Psalm 5:3

Prayer isn’t just about asking for things. Prayer is about more than just giving thanks. Praying is more than just saying “thank you.” Prayer is more than just asking God to help other people. Prayer is more than just kneeling, bowing, prostrating, or humbling ourselves before God. When we pray, we hope that God wants us there. When we pray, we hope that God will hear us and do something to bring about his salvation. When we pray, we hope that God will hear us and do what is best for us and the people we care about.
