Peter is making it clear that his faith in Jesus didn’t start with Jesus. It started with the great Jewish fathers, the Patriarchs. The same God who blessed them also brought Jesus back from the dead, even though Jesus was put to death in the worst and most humiliating way possible for a good Jew: he was nailed to a cross, which was against Jewish law and meant that someone was cursed. He brought Jesus back from the dead, put him on a high place, and made him our Lord and Savior. Praise God!
