Some earthly pleasures can make us happy for a short time, but when hard times come, they won’t be enough to keep us going. Taking joy in the LORD and in what he wants for us, on the other hand, gives us joy that lasts and keeps getting better. This way of life has both short-term and long-term benefits, and it makes people strong enough to handle the worst droughts in life.

Prayer

Dear God, Holy One of Heaven, I do find joy in you and your ways, and I find rest in your Spirit that never leaves me. Please give me the sense to always do what you want me to do. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
