They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. — Psalm 22:5

This Psalm of despair is also a Psalm of hope and faith. Jesus talked about it from the cross. God has always been good to his people Israel, and their history is a constant reminder that we can trust him to save us. God may seem slow to answer based on how we measure time, but his track record in history shows that he will answer, save, and bless his people in his time. We can remember that God is faithful and hears our cries of despair, lament, grief, agony, and fear, even in our worst nightmares.

I ask you, dear Father, to bless your people everywhere who are going through hard times. Give them your Spirit and bless their bad situation with a change for the better. Please listen to what your people are saying and act quickly to protect, defend, and help them. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
