And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; — Ephesians 4:23

We can’t fix ourselves by ourselves. We can protect ourselves from things that might make us bad. We can give ourselves to God and learn more about what he wants from us (Romans 12:1-2). God must do the renewing in the end, not just when we are saved, but every day. Only God’s grace can keep us going, give us strength, and make us new. Let’s give him our help. Then, let’s ask with confidence for his grace to make us strong, perfect, and new!

Prayer

Father, I come to you to ask that you give me the grace to change the way I see things, especially people. Please make me new in my mind and spirit and clean out my heart. I want to spend the next year sharing your love, being strengthened by your Spirit, and being aware of your grace. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
