Often times, we are so afraid of works-based salvation that we forget that love and grace ultimately call us to act, not just think. It takes effort to take action. Peter instructs us to exert every effort. Peter explains the importance of this work in the following verses. We will be able to grow in our knowledge of Jesus if we have more and more of these qualities. Let’s be productive! Throughout our efforts, we can be confident that the Holy Spirit is the power at work, producing the fruit that makes effectiveness possible. (cf. Galatians 5:22–25)

Prayer
Father, shape me and make me more like you and your will. I don’t pray this to get attention for myself, but so that you can use me better to spread your blessings and grace to those around me. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
