It is a mistake to think that God’s love for the world started with Jesus and the Great Commission. Remember how Jonah preached to save Nineveh, which was Israel’s worst enemy? Remember the important story of Ruth, a foreigner who became part of the family tree of King David and, eventually, of Jesus the Messiah. God loves everyone, and he wants them all to come to him and share his grace. We Christians are the salt and light of the world. We are here to reach out to all the people of the world and call them back to the one Father who really cares about them.

Holy God, make me want to share your love with the whole world even more. May my life, money, and care be used to help you do more of your work all over the world. Please bless the work of everyone who tells people about Jesus in a culture that is not their own. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
