And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. — 1 Chronicles 4:10

When our hearts are set on doing what God wants and we want to honor our LORD, our Father loves to bless us in big ways. So let’s first decide to do what he wants. Then, let’s not be afraid to ask God to bless other people, and let’s also tell the LORD what our hearts want. Lastly, let’s not be surprised when he answers our prayers with blessings.

O God, please show me how great you are by blessing me and the people I love. Help everyone understand that these blessings don’t come from our intelligence, skill, or strength, but from your grace. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
