And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples. — John 18:2

During this period of intense religious preparation, Judas knew where to find Jesus. It was no secret that Jesus would be praying in the garden with his disciples. If someone wanted to betray us, where would he or she tell our enemies to look for us? Would they be aware of where we would pray? Are not those inquiries intriguing? Can you imagine a higher compliment than for our enemies to be able to locate us in our place of prayer?

Prayer

Pardon me, Father, for not participating in prayer with you more regularly. I admit that I am often preoccupied, distracted, and even uninterested during my prayer time with you. I am sorry. I am uncertain as to why I should approach this blessing with discipline. I pray that your Spirit will kindle in my heart a fire that will joyfully draw me to this grace of prayer. Your presence and care are my true source of hope. In the name of Jesus, I thank you for always listening, even when I’ve been negligent. Amen.
