Imitating someone is the most sincere way to praise them. If we really want to please God by being like him, imitation may be the most expensive way to do so. See, loving God isn’t just something that happens in our heads or hearts. Love is an action we do for someone else. John told us in 1 John 4 that our words and actions must show that we love. Love means giving up what we want, our rights, and our wants in order to honor God and help other people. This kind of love has the power to change the world, a relationship, or a family.

Prayer

Father, I’ll never be able to fully comprehend your love for me if you didn’t let your son die as a sacrifice for me. Please guide me toward selfless love for others. Please fill my heart with your love so that I can spread it to others because I am aware that I lack the ability to accomplish this. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
