At the start of a new journey, it’s important to say something positive, especially if the journey needs you to take the lead. Joshua is no longer in the back seat. He is no longer all-pro Moses’s back-up. It is now his turn to be in charge. The people he leads have only ever been led by Moses, who was the best leader ever. How will he guide? He will lead with faith in God’s promises and without fear or giving up! How could this be? Because God’s people still have the same real leader! God remains God. His word still holds up. You can still count on his promises. He still has all-powerful strength.

Prayer

God, as I take on more responsibilities and face bigger challenges, please remind me of your promises, calm my fears, make me more determined, and lead me according to your will. May you always get glory and honor from the victories I take part in. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
