Like Esau, we get so caught up in the everyday things of life and the rumbling of our stomachs that we forget to look at the bigger picture. God’s Word, which is written in the Bible, shown in Jesus, and told to us in the Gospel, is what can keep us alive forever. We are looking for this living bread.

Prayer

True and Faithful God, give me a hunger for your Word through your Holy Spirit that is much more important to my life than my hunger for food. I’ll admit that sometimes I’ve let the little things in life get in the way of reading your Word and feeding my soul as much as I could. Please forgive me as I promise again to pay more attention to your leading and your truth through your Word and your Spirit. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
