But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. — Romans 8:11

If we are Christians, we know that God’s Spirit lives in us (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We know we will live forever because the Spirit is with us. God’s down payment on our future with him is the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; 2 Corinthians 5:5). Also, even as we live for Christ now, the Spirit keeps our bodies alive as we use them for God’s glory (Romans 12:1).

Prayer

Father, give your Spirit life to my body so that what I do not only brings you glory but also shows off your character and grace. All the glory goes to you, O Father, because your presence and power are at work in me, your child. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
