The Holy Spirit is God’s constant gift, his promise, and his seal. The Spirit is our promise that what he started with Jesus’ death on the cross and what we joined in with through faith and baptism, he will finish when Jesus comes back. But the world doesn’t get this great promise, just like it doesn’t get a lot of what the Bible says. Without the gift of the Holy Spirit, their eyes can only see what they can touch with their fingers. They can’t fully see what is true in God’s heart and written in his Word.

Prayer

Father, I’m grateful that you sent Jesus. Jesus, I am grateful that you sent the Spirit. Spirit, I’m glad you’re always there for me. As the Spirit fills me, O Lord, fill me even more and more, so that my will and life more perfectly reflect your wants and character. Use me to bless other people the way your presence blesses me right now. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
