Wow! What a deep passage with so many great ideas! Let’s write it in plain English so we can not only understand it but also believe it. God set up history so that a savior could come, and then he sent his Son. That Son had to deal with all the hard parts of the Law and all the weaknesses that come with being human. Our Father bought our freedom by letting his Son die on a cross in front of a crowd that laughed at him and was jealous of how popular he was. This was a terrible thing to do. He did this so that you and I could be his honored children and get all of his wonderful property. To put it simply: God’s plan, God’s Son, God’s ransom, and our glory.

Prayer

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for all the pain it caused you to send Jesus and watch him be persecuted, laughed at, and killed. Thank you for buying me back from being a sinner and saving me from death, which would have been the result of my sins. Also, thank you for giving me freedom in Christ and family all over the world through Jesus. All glory, honor, and praise go to you for your wonderful grace. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
