As a kid, I loved getting presents. When life was so simple, a gift showed me that I was loved. I didn’t think about what a gift meant or if it had a secret message. I didn’t care that the gift came with “strings attached.” It was just a gift from someone who really cared about me. It was a free sign of love that I didn’t deserve. Isn’t it great that we can be God’s children and receive his gift as if we were children?

Prayer

Thank you, kind Father, for the gifts of grace, faith, salvation, and, most of all, Jesus. I know I’ll never be able to repay these gifts, but I hope to say”thank you”through the way I live now, and I hope to keep saying”thank you”for all of time. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
