We live in a world full of keys, locks, alarms, and other ways to keep things safe. We shouldn’t be surprised by what Paul says. We take care of the things we value the most. What is more valuable to us than the Gospel’s message of God’s saving grace? God has given us all a built-in security system to help us keep that very precious hope safe. This safety system is inside of us. It is the Spirit of God.

Prayer

God, help me not to let legalism or freedom get in the way of your truth. I want to live a holy life and show other people how to do the same. I want to show them your kindness and grace. But most of all, Father, I want them to welcome Jesus back with me when he comes back. Please use your Spirit to help me see through lies and mistakes so I can protect your truth and live it. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
