When everything is said and done, we can’t really trust much. Most of us have been hurt by a friend who broke our trust at some point. The world economy is unstable, and things can change quickly. Every hour, the weather is different. But there is one thing that never changes in our world of heartache and disappointment. We can trust God. We shouldn’t be afraid of change. He is the thing that keeps us steady even in the worst storms. He is our strength when things are going badly. His words and promises tell us good things will happen to us. We don’t need to be scared because we can trust him.

Prayer

I won’t be afraid of the days ahead with your assistance and presence, Almighty Father, my Deliverer and Strength. I thank you for preserving Israel and its people throughout history. I thank you for preserving your written Word—the Bible—despite persecution and repression. Because my life and my future are in your hands, I thank you and will not be afraid. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
