Lord, gently humble us. One of my friends’ favorite prayers is that one. I like it, too. But thank God Jesus wasn’t humbled in a soft way. I’m sorry he had to go through pain, but the way he put himself last was shocking, brave, extreme, and shocking. But I should have the same attitude when I try to find God’s lost children.

Prayer

Even though you are all-powerful, God, you humbled yourself in order to save me. May I treat people with greater selflessness, more in line with how Jesus is with me. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
