Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, — Jude 1:24

We find a great deal of truth in this one prayer of blessing. What catches our attention first is what God can do for us: keep us from falling and bring us into his glorious presence in joyful perfection. But when we look more closely, our hearts are drawn to the description of our amazing God: the one who is able, the only God, our Savior, the one who lives in glory, majesty, power, and authority, the one who has spoken to us through Jesus, our Lord, and the one who has always been, is alive now, and will be forever. As God’s children, we have a lot of great things, but that’s because our God is beyond great, awesome, and wonderful. We can’t say enough good things about him. Even our best minds can’t understand the glory he has. But despite how great he is, he loves you and me, even though we are small and will die.

Prayer

Awesome and Holy Lord Most High, thank you for not only being God but also loving me and showing yourself to me in the face of Jesus. I can’t wait to stand in front of you, enjoy how perfect you both are, and praise your glory with the angels. Please accept my small and imperfect praise until the day when my words are freed from their limitations and my flaws are swallowed up in your glory. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
