Whenever I think of James, Jesus’ brother, I cannot help but think of the following: “Pure religion, undefiled before God the Father, is this: keep yourself clean and help orphans and widows in need.” In his ministry, Jesus made it clear that this was what the Father wanted. Now, it’s up to us to keep going!

Prayer

Father, I want my life, my kindness, and my ministry to show how much you care about people who need care, protection, and love. Give me clearer eyes to see this need and a stronger heart to act on it so that your love can be shown through me. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
