The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, — Ephesians 1:18

Heaven is something we see with our hearts. When we are feeling down, doubtful, or discouraged, our hearts need to be “enlightened.” In our darkness, the dawn needs to come, and when it does, we see hope and the wealth that is ours. But when things look bad, sometimes the only way to remember these things is to sing them, pray them, or read God’s promises about them.

Prayer

You, O God, are my Hope. I believe you will keep your promises. However, I must admit that sometimes, like right now, I have trouble believing that you will answer my prayers and carry out the task for which I have given you my life. Please give me your Spirit, assuage my fears, and reignite my passion so that I can boldly serve you and spread your grace to others. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
