“Stand up and shout it if you love my Jesus…” Our kids like singing the song! But what happens to the childlike excitement and joy of praising the Lord? God doesn’t want us to lose it, says the Bible. As you read the Bible, mark all the ways people honor and thank our powerful and eternal God with their bodies. Isn’t it time we stood up and praised God in a society that often uses his name in a bad way, not just in church (our private worship) and in our daily devotions (our personal worship), but also in our everyday lives (our public worship)?

Prayer

God the Father, I don’t see why an all-powerful, immortal God would decide to hear my petitions. But I’m certain that you pay attention to them and hear them. I’m grateful. If I worship you privately with other Christians at church, privately throughout the day, or publicly as I live as an example in front of my colleagues, please be glorified in my worship. Please have praise in my life because you alone are God and deserving of all glory. In Jesus’ name I ask it. Amen.
