If we don’t walk with God, the coming year won’t be a spiritual success, no matter how new it is or how great our plans are. Let’s make a promise to serve the Lord as we start this new year. As we make plans for the days ahead, let’s make sure they are based on what the Bible says about the LORD’s will, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and prayerful thought about what our God wants us to do.

Prayer

God of all time, my heavenly father, thank you for being close to me as I start a new year. Please help me know every day what your will is. Bring into my life the people who will help me love you more, serve you well, and bless others in ways that matter. All the praise and glory for what I do, think, and say in the days to come goes to you. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
