It’s better than having to start again! We get a fresh start when we become Christians. God did more than forgive us, pardon us, buy us back, and save us. He also made us new. And every time we come to him, every time we recommit to serving him, and every time we give him a new year, we get a fresh start and a whole new world. So, let’s start this new year by giving ourselves to God and asking him to wash us clean of all wrongdoing and take charge of our lives.

Almighty and holy God, I want to honor and glorify you in the decisions I make, the people I have an impact on, the words I speak, and the deeds I do in the upcoming year. I am aware that there will not always be a new day, but I want every day I have to have been lived for the sake of your honor, glory, and praise. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
