Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. — Proverbs 3:5

I find it easy to call on God and rely on his mercy and grace when things are hard. He’s my save-me-now Savior. But I have to admit that when things are going well and I’m enjoying his blessings, I’m a lot like the Israelites and forget that all the good things in my life and all the chances I’ve had are because of his grace. When things seem to be going well, I need to learn to acknowledge God and not rely on my own wisdom and strength.

Thank you, kind Father, for all the blessings I have experienced. Because of your grace and not my goodness, I have the family I do, the safety I have, the principles I uphold, the victories I have known, the hope I possess, the salvation I have experienced, and the future I look forward to. I’m grateful. I’m grateful. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
