It is wonderful to forgive if it leads to a change in one’s life. The purpose of Jesus’ mission was to call us out of sin and into his presence. The reason he did this was that it was beneficial to him. Grace has been given to us, but He is also kind enough to not leave us in sin.

O LORD, my God, you are holy in everything you do. Please change my heart and my life to do what you want. Give me the assurance that my sins will be forgiven and the strength to leave them behind.
